Mission Statement
La Salle Green Hills is a Catholic institution for boys committed to the education of responsible citizens and future leaders. In living up to this vision and its three-fold ideal of Religio, Mores, and Cultura, La Salle Green Hills reaffirms its mission: the formation of Christian gentlemen who live the gospel.
In pursuing this mission, La Salle Green Hills professes to:
- Promote the development of spiritual and moral values;
- Respect the individuality of each person and the totality of his human potential;
- Pursue a relevant and an excellent academic program;
- Develop social and political awareness, social justice and social responsibility for natural development;
- Promote the enrichment of Filipino culture and the growth of an interdependent global community.
The key phrases of the mission statement can be elucidated as follows:
- Catholic Institution. Christian values and Roman Catholic doctrine are the focus of the institution's curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular offerings.
- Education of responsible citizens and future leaders. Geared towards the development of Filipino citizens and future leaders who are competent, upright, and responsible. The majority of our students are expected to assume leadership roles in their respective fields of endeavor and it is the responsibility of the school to provide an education that challenges the development of the mind as well as the heart.
- The three-fold ideal of Religio, Mores, and Cultura. Descriptive of the Lasallian spirit and tradition. Religio refers to the spiritually alive person; Mores, to the person who acts with justice and integrity in dealing with his neighbor; and Cultura, to the person who knows how to appreciate what man's creative spirit has fashioned through the ages.
- Christian gentlemen. Man of compassion who lives out the core gospel values of truth, freedom, love, and justice. He is a well-rounded person spiritually, socially, intellectually, aesthetically, and physically and is committed to the service of the poor.
- National development. Through its graduates, the school aspires to strengthen genuine nationalistic initiatives to effect change that will contribute to the enhancement of the quality of life of the majority of our people, especially the poor.
- Enrichment of Filipino Culture. The recognition and appreciation of the various expressions of our identity as a people, in art forms, humanizing social values, or time honored traditions.
